Giant Wing Stem

Huge bold leaves add 10 feet of drama to the summer garden.  AND the tiny details of this plant are stunning too. A cold hardy perennial, it likes sun, but part shade is okay.  

It thrives without any irrigation.  

The stems make for excellent specimen in a vase showing off their wings and silver fuzz.  

The flowers, in October, smell of cooking caramel and attract tons of pollinators.
