Upright Ginger Lily

Description

Ginger lilies add a romantic tropical feel to any spot but they tend to lean. Last year, I saw this upright, thick leaved one. I think the plant is distinct from any other I’ve grown.  

It wasn’t in flower when I saw it but is said to have a yellow flower (see borrowed photo.) It’s scientific name indicates yellow — Hedychium flavum

Plant in part shade in rich garden soil. We’re using this in a garden under live oaks. Ginger lilies start out of a tall clump but the clumps get bigger over time and soon, you’ll have enough to share. 

We ship three large rhizomes per order.
