Ardisia japonica ‘Chirmen’

An elegant but tough small evergreen ground cover for shade. Crinkled, gloss leaves all year, small pinkish flowers in fall, and red berries in summer. 

Ardisia, known as marleberry, was a favorite Victorian house plant — it symbolized modesty since its showy berries hand low, in the foliage. 

It’s slow growing which makes it a lovely little plant for a small clay pot.
