Sunshine Mimosa Native Ground cover
$21.00
Lawn alternative! Tough ground cover for the sun to part shade—hundreds of pin, powder puff flowers in summer. Plant a lawn of it or just plant a few in your grass and let them slow weave through.
It can be grown naturally for a fuzzy, 6-inch carpet or mown low for walking (see pics). It’s cool trailing from a container, too. The leaves close when you touch them.
We ship TWO quart pots per order.

A super fun thing about this is that leaves are sensitive, so they touch when you close them—sometimes called Senestative Vine.
Used as a lawn substitute — looks like grass, but you wouldn’t want to set out a picnic on it.
I think this would make a spectacular hanging basket plant, so I’m trying that now.
Cold hardy in USDA Zone 8 by experience. Possibly more cold hardy.
