Diversity

I picked up a glossy book of gardens designed by Miami guy — spectacular things; theatrical sets full of creativity.   And I thought, wow, I could never have a book on my garden designs like this.  They are too diverse, they’d look silly in a book —- a little tiny yard, a parking lot, a no-holds-barred estate, a garden district courtyard.

And I thought how lucky I am that I can do all this different stuff.  Here are some pics from my design work just in this week.  I love the challenge of tough, public spaces and the fun of imagining how people who may not be at all involved with plants might consider what’s happening.   And I love the comfort of  and involvement of working with someone who knows exactly how the space will be used, at what times of days and in what sorts of satisfying ways.
