Farm Days; Garden Lunch & Learn

We’re happy to offer group tours in the summer of 2022.

Group size limited to 15- 30 people with covid safe protocols.

Arrive around 9 a.m. for a tour of our specialty nursery, and an introduction to the other aspects of the design business.  We’ll walk the fields, hang out in the shade, and learn about our organic, no-till system along the way.

Then we’ll break for lunch. We have an excellent caterer who makes healthy, fun meals in keeping with our garden philosophy.  There’s usually a little something from the farm included in lunch.

Enjoy a walk-around history of the 1750’s house, some history, and the flowers and heirloom plants of Gloria’s garden. It’s an old-school Southern cottage garden with bottle trees, old-fashioned roses, a grave or two, and lots of curious plants. Peak into our artfully renovated barn office, our cobb studio, and meet the donkeys.

Ph.D. Students from the University of Georgia said, “We never expected such a warm welcome — like we were home for the day.” (photo is pre-covid-farm table is no longer used for meals)

Spend a few minutes shopping for plants, books, and merchandise.  We’ll have special deals and great prices on all sorts of plants that we grow — from our specialty crinum to rare ferns and perennials. And we’re happy to dig fresh anything from the field that’s caught your eye.

To make a day of being in the country,  walk down the red dirt road to Redcliffe State Historical site.  We’ll organize with the park rangers for a tour of the stunning grounds — with a realistic presentation focused on the enslaved people who planted the experimental landscape and crops. We can put you in touch with the Park Manager if you’d like to schedule a landscape or special tour of Redcliffe.  Recently the Atlanta Journal listed their tours as one of the best, most honest looks at Southern history.

Cost $35 per person, non-refundable, payable in advance to the group leader.

We’ll provide contact information for Redcliffe. Tours there range from free to $5.

The Magnolia Lane once connected our farm and Redcliffe State Historic Site.

All events will be held rain or shine except in extreme storms.  Dress for the farm!

We are Covid safe. Vaccination required. Lunch and tours outside. Self-guided tours of small groups in our offices, and barn apartments. In the case of severe weather, we’ll reschedule for another day.

Please make inquiries and reservations via email  bulbmen@gmail.com  We can’t provide a menu ahead of time but please let us know of any dietary restrictions.
