Queen’s Tears (Billbergia nutans)
Old-school gardeners taught me to love this pass-along porch plant! Mid-February brings, neon-colored flowers dangling like tropical fish on a fishing pole!
Handsome, long thin dark green leaves all year. Cold hardy in 8b. An easy, rewarding houseplant elsewhere.
We ship well-rooted plants bare-root, ready to pot up – see pics.

We grow this in the ground, in an extremely dry bed that is under an eave, so it gets almost no rain. We also grow it in a few huge pots that stay on the porch all winter.
Or if you have a palm in a protected area, plant this right on the trunk, it will settle in and colonize the palm boots.
Makes an awesome pot plant too.
Easy care inside or out, the flowers seal the deal!
